Sat 22 Aug - South Lakes area

Meet at the Sun pub, Crook, at 11.30am. SD 463 950. 2-3 hours, 5 miles, grade leisurely/easy.

This walk passes through lowland meadows, woodlands and includes some short stretches on lanes. We will pass the old St Catherine's church tower that was once part of the manor chapel for Crook Hall. The chapel was built in the 17th century and was in use until the late 1800s when structural problems were discovered and the rest of the building was demolished. Refreshments afterwards will be at the 2 Sisters Cafe, Plumgarths which was the Westmorland Gazette cafe of the year in 2014 and serves light meals and a fantastic range of delicious homemade cakes! Please text Sarah 07818 366665 if you plan to attend.

I haven't had a chance to check out this walk as yet so I'm not sure about the parking situation. Please car share if possible. I'll be coming from Kendal and happy to liaise with others coming from the same area. Again, please comment below to sort this!
