Description: Starting from the 18th century hillside church of St John, Helsington, we will walk East onto Scout Scar, which is a limestone ridge between the Lyth & Kent valleys, with lovely views on a clear day. We will then head down to Brigsteer Woods, which are carpeted with bluebells at this time of year, looping round past medieval Sizergh castle, before heading back to Helsington.
Grade: Moderate (the walking is easy with good paths & I have only graded it Moderate due to the distance)
