Sun 30 Sep - Scafell (possibly Scafell Pike also)

Scafell is a mountain that we rarely ascend. This walk offers the opportunity to tackle this interesting mountain. There are a few parts of the walk that some people may find difficult. Ascent via the grassy slopes on the west side of the mountain and descent via Foxes Tarn, and down from the Mickledore Ridge. Back to Wasdale Head. If weather permits and we are feeling energetic, there is the possibility of ascending Scafell Pike also which would add about an hour to the walk.

Start time: 10.05 am
Parking: at Wasdale Head Green (free) NY 187085
Distance: 6.25 miles - 7 miles (depending on whether we ascend Scafell Pike also)
Low wood suggested meeting time 9.05am (I will not be there)
Time: 4.5 - 6 hours (depending on whether we ascend Scafell Pike also)
Ascent: 1050m - 1200m (depending on whether we ascend Scafell Pike also)
Grade: 4
