From the church we ascend to the Garburn pass. From here we ascend over Backstone Barrow to the summit of Sour Howes. Now we walk around the head of Park Beck to the summit of Sallows. We now desend gently down the Garburn pass to meet the Limestone track which we walk along to the bottom of Troutbeck Tongue. Now we climb steeply for a short time to the summit. We descend the South end of the tongue before returning along Ing Lane to Troutbeck and a well earned drink in the Mortal Man
