GENERAL INFORMATION FOR NEW MEMBERS

We have a large selection of walks catering for all levels of experience and stamina, from gentle strolls to energetic ridge walks requiring a good degree of fitness and stamina.

Walks are graded from 1 to 4 (with the odd 5!). Grade 1 is the easiest. Grades 4 & 5 - these walks cover greater distances and higher altitudes. Walks can be on smaller less distinct trails on uneven ground. Walks suit those that regularly walk in the hills (e.g. at least once a month) and can be fast paced with fewer breaks.

We are always pleased to welcome new members on our walks to get their boots dirty.We request that new members choose an easier walk to begin with (levels 1-3). Please call the walk leader prior to the walk to introduce yourself.

You can do a couple of taster walks before you join the Ramblers. If you wish to join click on the Ramblers website link below and put "summitt good 20's to 30's " as the group you wish to join.

Our walks are off road in rural areas. Please have suitable footwear and clothing for the walk you intend to join (no jeans), and bring some food and drink, even if the walk includes a pub stop. Leaders may refuse to accept participants who in their opinion are inadequately equipped or unfit.
