Sun 1st Aug - Silverdale

Park: Warton Cragg car park (Warton, Carnforth) OS7 492 723
Duration: 5hrs approx 7-8miles
Terrain: mostly level with short incline

Start at Warton Cragg car park. Turn left after the Washington pub, drive 1/2 mile to main carpark, missing first car park.
start with walk up to limestone Warton Cragg with splendid view across the coast, past the replica of a 13thcentury beacon. Down past old WW1 pumping chimney to drain the Marshes, towards jenny browns point then up into Silverdale village. Shops and pub there. From there to Arnside tower ruins. We then walk low level to Gaits Barrow Nature reserve, past Hawes water towards Leighton Moss RSPB reserve (bring binos if keen bird watcher). Continue past the manr of Leighton Hall. From there, a 3/4 mile unfortunate road walk to Warton. Pub stop
