Starting at Patterdale in the carpark on the opposite side of the road to the Patterdale Hotel (pay and display unfortunately). We will be heading up Birks, St Sunday Crag and on to Fairfield. Once at Fairfield we bag Seat Sandal then head up over Dollywagon Pike, Nethermost Pike, Helvellyn and Helvellyn Lower Man. After a quick run up Raise and down Sticks pass we have the option to take it easy and head back to the cars or add on Sheffield pike and Glenridding Dodd. A pleasant view of Ullswater and Glenridding to end the day. If people want to we can tag on Birkhouse moor on the way back to the cars, which is another Wainwright.
We will hopefully be doing between 8 and 11 Wainwrights depending on the choices made on the day. For those with a desire for a challenge I can direct you to Arnison Crag at the start of the walk for an extra Wainwright, you can then catch the rest of us up on Birks or St Sunday Crag (cutting the corner off).
Total length: - map distance is approximately 13.7 miles (depending on the extras).
Ascent: - 1807m or 5928 ft (depending on the extras).
Difficulty: - 4
Start time: - 9:30am
Parking options: - Pay and display opposite the Patterdale Hotel, free layby opposite the White Lion (if spaces available) or parking spaces in front of the hall a short way north of the Patterdale Hotel on the right. Meet at the pay and display carpark NY 396 159.
As there will be a late finish Paul has suggested a meal post walk in potentially The White Lion (other suggestions welcome). Please contact Paul if you are interested.

Photos from High Cup Nick
Sun 31st May - High Cup Nick from Dufton
High Cup Nick is a classic U-shaped valley high on the western flanks of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Here you can see the grey-blue dolerite crags which also form High Force and Cauldron Snout.

Sun 24th May - Hartsop, High St, Angle Tarn
There's an easy walk from Hartsop along Pasture Bottom to start, then quite a steep ascent to Threshthwaite Mouth, onto Thornthwaite Crag, and finally up to High Street. Hopefully there will be good weather and wonderful views for the walk along the top, overlooking Hayeswater. We leave High Street at the Straits of Riggindale, walk over or round The Knott, then descend gently to Angle Tarn. Another lovely ridge takes us to Boredale Hause and views of Ullswater. The initial descent from there is quite steep but soon becomes an easy walk back to the car along the valley bottom.
Start: 10am at car park north of Brothers Water, grid ref NY 403134
Car share: suggest 9:30am at Low Wood but I won't be there
Distance: approx 10 miles
Total ascent: around 3600ft
Grade: 3/4 (not a difficult walk under foot though quite long)
Time: I 'recced' this walk in just over 4.5 hrs but with a group it's likely to take 5.5-6 hrs.
Leader: Ruth L 07950 085070
Rob and Alex are planning to wild camp at Angle Tarn on Sunday night (weather permitting) Meet in Patterdale, park opposite the White Lion Pub in layby or carpark.
We can have a meal in the pub early about 6pm then walk up to Angle Tarn about 1 hour to wild camp. Then head back down Monday morning.

Sat 25th April - Trip to Go Ape at Whinlatter
Would you like to come and swing from the trees on a high wire activity course, involving zip wires, rope bridges and Tarzan swings? We will be Going Ape on the morning of SATURDAY 25th April in Whinlatter forest at 10:30am.
There are five routes of increasing difficulty and once you are in you can go on each of the routes as many times as you would like.
Groups of up to 14 are 'released' onto the course after a simple safety briefing at half hour intervals. I would estimate 2-3hrs to complete the course - longer if you want to repeat routes.
Full details of what is involved (and details of sensible clothing - you need not to mind getting a little dirty should you land on your bum at the end of the zip-wires and you will need to be able to move about freely on the high wire course) can be found on the Go Ape website http://www.goape.co.uk/.
If you would like to come please let me know - the cost is £25 per person. At present 10 have booked, and there is space for 2 more people on the 10:30 slot.
Please email me on hattie22@btopenworld.com or call on my mobile 07753 160831 if you are interested!
