24 May - Arnside Knott

Start Point: The Albion Pub (LA5 OHA) If you go past the Albion there is roadside parking at the end of the promenade (SD454786). Parking opposite the shops and cafes is not suitable as there is a time limit of 1 hour.
Start time: 10.30

Description: We start the walk with a stretch on a footpath directly alongside the beach with Grubbins Wood on the left until New Bairns. Turning left at  New Barns we walk inland with Frith Wood to our right.  After walking through a caravan park, we reach the coast again, taking a coastal path up to Far Arnisde.  We head up to Hollins Farm, through Heathwaite, up to Arnside Knott and  back to Arnside via Red Hills.

Distance: 5 miles./ 9.14 km

Height gain: 257 meters

Time: 3-4.hours

This walk will be cancelled if it is very wet and windy as the coast paths could be unsafe.
