Start Point: Brown Howe Cark Park on the A5084 (SD 290 910) at 11.00. This is a pay and display car park. There are some free spaces opposite the entrance.
Description: Wainwright in his book the Outlying Fells of Lakeland describes Beacon Fell as ‘amongst the most delectable of the lesser heights of Lakeland. It is an epitome of all that appeals to fellwalkers’.
From the car park, we cross the road and follow a path until we see a signpost for the Cumbria Way. We then follow the Cumbria Way until we reach the far end of Beacon Tarn. Finally we climb the short distance to the peak of Beacon Fell before descending to the cars.
