Sun 1 Sep - Lancaster -"Blackberries and Cake"

Lancaster - Galgate - Conder Green - Lancaster

There are likely to be blackberries along the old railway-line part to this walk. If you would like to pick some please bring suitable bags/tins etc. Also there will be two coffee and cake opportunities on the walk, but please feel free to bring your own lunch etc if you would prefer to do that.

Start: 10:15am /GR:475601 /NHS property - please park in the very top car park up Pathfinders Drive.

This walk is flat but quite long along picturesque Lancaster Canal to Galgate where we can stop for a brew if needed. http://www.canalsidecraftcentre.com/ From there we head west, still along the canal to Condor Green where there is 'an array of bird-life', taking us to cafe number two http://www.alexbarnes1653.webspace.virginmedia.com/cafe/ where there will be cake. Tired feet can take the bus from here back to the car park (the bus leaves outside the pub 'The Stork' every 2 hours which will take you straight to the car park.)

Turning right through Stodday along hedged country lanes, we will eventually come to the road which will lead us back to the car park.

This walk could be done in reverse if preferred.
