Sun 21 Aug - Howgills

A good challenging walk in a lovely part of the Howgills with great views over the town and over to the surrounding Yorkshire dales and Cumbrian Fells (weather permitting) a nice change to the Lake district and a lot quieter A steep climb out of the town on well marked out paths of loose stone/gravel. Heading up to Scoolbank, Arant Haw, The Calf (highest point of the day) then dropping down the other side we head around the valley side, then as a extra treat a steepish walk back up and over Winder then we follow the main path back down the other side back down in to Sedbergh.

Starting point: Sedbergh, at the the end of the main street go on Long lane below Westwood books, parking on the roadside (free parking). Grid reference 662-921 OS map Howgill fells & Upper Eden Valley. OL19.
