Cross Fell - The highest point in the Pennines (893 m). A very different landscape to the Lake District, with views of the Pennines to the East, and across to the Lake District to the West.
Route: Past Kirkland Hall, then up the old corpse road to Garrigill, then along the Pennine Way over the summit to Tees Head. Descent via Wildboar Scar, then return via the Hanging Walls of Mark Anthony.
Distance: Approx 10 miles
Time: 5.5-6.5 hours
Ascent: Approx 700 m
Grade: 3-4
