Note from Dan added 9 Feb: If the weather is as bad on Sunday as it's forecast to be, I'll be doing a lower level wander (just up as far as Alcock Tarn) that's a good bit shorter. It'll be starting from the same spot and time as before, but it might be worth mentioning on the blog so as not to disappoint anyone! 

Start Point: free car park (G.R. NY 345063) just 200 yards('ish) up the lane that starts beside the P. & D. White Moss car park & ends by Dove Cottage @ 10.00
