Sun 31 Oct - Pendle Hill

This walk takes in the Pendle circular route passing through woodlands, alongside streams and over fields. First we ascend Spence Moor, and circle round passing over Black Hill to reach the trig point at Pendle Hill. Easy, slighlty steep descent back to Barley with sweeping views of the surrounding area.

Cafe in car park at end. Don't forget your witches brew.

Start: 1030am Barley Green car park (cost £1), GR SD823403. Don't forget that the clocks go back on Saturday night, so you get an extra hour in bed. No excuses for being late!

Estimated journey time from Kendal 1h10. Take A65 to Long Preston, when road divides, turn right towards Nelson, pass through Gisburn, continue on road to outskirts of Blacko, taking very small right turn signposted Roughlee (Blacko Bar Road - this is found immediately after a right turn to Downham, blind corner). Continue along road for approx 4 miles to Barley. Car park is on your right.
