From here, there is a moderately steep ascent that takes us to the summit of Red Screes. A gradual descent with good views of the southern Lake District lakes and fells takes us back to Ambleside. The Apple Pie shop is always a welcome stop after a walk on a cold winter day, where we can warm ourselves with a big mug of hot chocolate!
