Walk for 20th July - Howtown to Glenridding

Steamer Walk from Howtown to Glenridding by the Shore
Leader - Linda
Meeting at 10-10.15am

Start Point:
Car Park of Ullswater Steamers at the Glenridding Pier House. Parking costs £4 per car for the day so it’s best to car share if possible. The ferry will cost £5.20 each.

We catch the ferry to Howtown at 10.30am to follow the low level path overlooking Ullswater back to Glenridding.

The path offers a succession of breathtaking vantage points over the lake and surrounding area. The route also passes through light juniper, birch and holly woodland. There are 2 options for a picnic lunch – a sandy beach or a waterfall.
The route covers undulating, stony, well walked paths.

Time: approx. 4 hours
Distance: 6 ¼ miles (10km)
Grade: 2
Ideal for beginners

A new member is looking for a lift from Crosby Villa near Maryport to the walk. If anyone can help please let Linda know on 07717 313073
