Brothers Water / Kirkstone Pass / Dove Crag

Start Point:

Cow Bridge - between Brothers Water & Patterdale (GR NY 403134) @ 09:00

Description:

First we walk the nice flat, mile long path past Brothers Water along to the Brothers Water

Inn. We then climb SSE, up The Tongue & Rough Edge, to the top of Caudale Moor & (maybe?) Stony Cove Pike (just to 'bag' another summit?) before heading SSW to drop down to the Kirkstone Pass (2^nd Inn?). Next it's straight up Red Screes and then follow the ridge past Scandale Tarn & Black Brow, before reaching Dove Crag. This time we descend down (below the Priest's Hole cave) to the bottom of Dovedale, before following it down to Hartsop Hall then repeating the initial mile, past Brothers Water, back to the cars.

Total Ascent: 1400 metres (4593 ft.)

Time: 6½ / 7½ hours
