Walk for Sunday 24th June - High Raise
Description: Ascent of High Raise (762m) from Stonethwaite via Greenup
Gill.
Descent via Langstrath Beck. We will pass Black Moss Pot on the way back so if the weather is good and you fancy a dip bring your swimmers.
Grade: 3
Ascent: 600m
Time: 6 hours
Start: 10am in Stonethwaite Village next to the public telephone box (NY263138). I'm planning on camping out the night before at The Stonethwaite Campsite. If anyone else is interested let me know. Its pretty basic.
There are toilets but no showers or drinking water. It's about 400m up a rough track past the village and The Langstrath Hotel.
Car Share: 08:45am at The Low Wood Hotel. As I'm camping I won't be
leaving from the Hotel but I can put people in contact with each other to organise car sharing.

Walk for Sunday 17 June - Black Combe
Date: Sunday 17 June
Route: Starting from Whitbeck, the route contours along the edge of the hill to Hall Foss, then up the northern slopes to the summit. Return route is via Townend Knotts and Kirkbank.
Description: Black Combe is located in the extreme South-West of the Lake District. It is described by Wordsworth as offering "the amplest range of unobstructed prospect that British ground commands". On a clear day it should be possible to see Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, and even Ireland, as well as inland to the Lake District.
Distance: Approx 8 miles
Time: About 5 hours
Ascent: 600 m

Hopegill Head - Grassmoor - Whiteless Pike
Starting from Lanthwaite Farm, a fairly steep climb ( involving a tiny bit of a scramble ) brings us up to Whiteside (720m) and hopefully a dramatic ridge walk along to Hopegill Head (770)and possibly a short detour to Grizedale Pike (791)before dropping down to Coledale Hause and up onto Grassmoor (852)which should give good views over Crummock Water and Buttermere before winding back down along Whiteless Edge and Pike (660)towards Buttermere and a gentle finish along the shore of Crummock Water.
Distance : 15 Km/ 9.3 miles
Time : 6-7 hours
Grade : 3-4
Start : 9. 30am Lanthwaite Farm car park G.R. NY159 208. B5289 Buttermere road 3 miles south of Lorton. There are two more car parks about a mile further towards Buttermere.

Starting from Cow Bridge nr Hartsop, Ullswater - past Brother’s Water and up Dovedale with a steep ascent onto Dove Crag (792m). Up again to Hart Crag (822m) and along Link Hause with a gentle climb onto Fairfield (873m). Follow the path back onto Hart Crag and then wind back down Hartsop above How, with a little bit of a steep descent at the end back to Cow Bridge.
