Description: At the end of the Longsleddale tarmac (by Sadgill Farm [195m]) we first head S, past Sadgill Wood, then W on the Stile End Farm B.O.A.T. We turn N'ish (once the lane is reached) & pass Overend / Hallow Bank Quarter / above Kentmere Reservoir / Mardale Ill Bell (on LHS) & Harter Fell (on RHS) / top of Nan Bield Pass (630m) & Small Water Tarn. Just before reaching Haweswater Reservoir (260m), we'll bear R onto Gatescarth Pass (top 590m) & return to cars!

Total Ascent: 890m (2920ft.)

Wed 9 Jul - Raven's Barrow
A short walk in the quiet and secluded Cartmel Fell area, through
fields and along country lanes to the viewpoint at Raven's Barrow. One
of Wainwright's outlying fells, he described it as "a lovely belvedere
for viewing a lovely valley". Conveniently, we return to the Hare and
Hounds for refreshments afterwards.

Total ascent: 150m
Time: 1.5 hrs

Start: 7 pm at Bowland Bridge. Limited parking on the roadside by the
Hare and Hounds pub, Bowland Bridge, LA11 6NN (Grid ref: SD418896).
