Start Point: Parking beside the River Rothay / Rothay Park, Ambleside

Description: The walk starts from the bridge next to Rothay Park.
Cross the cattle grid until in a few paces, a steep road rises to the
left. After a steep climb the path flattens out onto the bottom of
Loughrigg fell. We continue to Loughrigg summit where there are
stunning views. The descent will be via Loughrigg Terrace. We will
then walk along the foot of Loughrigg, past the Loughrigg Caves and
along the path next to the river Rothay back to Ambleside.
Distance: Approx 8.62 km (5 miles)
Total Ascent: 403m
Highest Point: Loughrigg Fell - 335 metres (1100 ft.)
Time: 3-4 hours

Sun 17 Feb - Weatherlam
Weatherlam
Last minute as always but I think I have a pretty good excuse this time, just got back from Australia.
Start time 10:00
Parking will be at Tilberthwaite NY306010
Summating: Weatherlam at 802m
Accent 720m
Length: 8 miles
Time: aiming for 5.5 hours
Its winter, so full kit, including torch. And if Weatherline says theres white stuff on top Saturday (updated when chap gets back down from hellvellyn) turn up with ice axe and crampons on Sunday please.
Update: Tilberthwaite was clear on Thursday and there's been no more snow with everything but the tops melting.

Sun 10 Feb - Poetry Path
A low level walk alongside the River Eden and the surrounding countryside of Kirkby Stephen. Along the way are several stone sculptures with poems carved in, describing a year in the life of a farmer.
The walk is mostly flat on a variety of paths, tracks, and across fields.
Distance: 8 miles
Time: 4 hours
Grade: 1 (Easy, leisurely pace)
Start: 10 am outside the Upper Eden Visitor centre on the main road in Kirkby Stephen (Grid ref: NY775087). Free parking in the town centre.

Sun 10 Feb - Quiz
The quiz social will take place at Romneys, Milnthorpe Road, Kendal, LA9 5HG on Sunday 10th Feb.
The quiz starts at 2045 however we will meet for drinks from 2000.
Cavery/bar food is available for those who fancy it until 2030, although there is nothing formal organised in terms of a table booking etc.

Sun 3 Feb - Walla Crag
From Keswick, we head along the old railway towards Pentrith, then ascend to Castlerigg stone circle, then ascend to Walla Crag (376 m). Return is via Ashness Bridge and the Derwent Water.

Ascent: About 400 m
Estimated time: 5 hours
Start: Junction of Station Road and Brundholme Road in Keswick, near Keswick museum and art gallery. Free parking is available along Brundholme Road, but please allow plenty of time to park and walk back to the start point as places at the near end of the road tend to fill up quickly.
