Apologies, Sundays walk is cancelled partly due to walk
leader been poorly, but also because the recent weather conditions will
mean part of this walk will probably be under water! I will put it on
again in the near future.

Start point: Keld Dub GR: 552 143, go past Keld Chapel, over the cattle grid, parking area by the stream. (Please ring if coming on this walk as if the weather is bad the start point may have to change)
Start time: 10am
Distance: 11km, grade 2, (4.5 hrs)
From Keld Dub we go over Dog Hill and then follow the SE side of the valley up Swindale. We cross Swindale Beck at Truss Gap, then head back down the valley taking in the only real climb of the day, up Tailbert Bank (all of 50m). At the farm at Tailbert we head north and then wind our way round to Shap Abbey, parts of which date back to the 15th century. We will spend a bit of time looking around the ruins. (Entry free). From here we will start heading back to the cars, stopping to look inside the National Trust owned Keld Chapel, again free entry.
Where as some of the walk is on rough tracks, off these it is wet and boggy in parts - waterproof boots and / or gaiters advised.
There will be a tea shop or pub stop in Shap at the end of the walk.
