GENERAL INFORMATION FOR NEW MEMBERS

We have a large selection of walks catering for all levels of experience and stamina, from gentle strolls to energetic ridge walks requiring a good degree of fitness and stamina.

Please see our guide on walk gradings to see what would suit you best.

If you would like to do a walk please phone the walk leader of that particular walk for more details.

We are always pleased to welcome new members on our walks to get their boots dirty. We request that new members choose an easier walk to begin with (leisurely or moderate). Please call the walk leader prior to the walk to introduce yourself.

You can do a couple of taster walks before you join the Ramblers. If you wish to join click on the Ramblers website link below and put "summitt good 20's to 30's " as the group you wish to join.

Our walks are off road in rural areas. Please have suitable footwear and clothing for the walk you intend to join (no jeans), and bring some food and drink, even if the walk includes a pub stop. Leaders may refuse to accept participants who in their opinion are inadequately equipped or unfit.

We are the Lake District walking group aimed at younger walkers of all abilities in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

We are part of The Ramblers' Association, a registered charity, looking after Britain's footpaths for more than 65 years. It is Britain's biggest organisation working for walkers with 139,000 members across England, Scotland and Wales.
